In Osun State, operatives of Amotekun Corps of the State have arrested two for impersonating Police as well as stealing in Ile-Ife.
Via a statement on Friday, State Commander, Amotekun Corps, Brig-Gen. Bashir Adewinbi revealed, the suspects conspired on Thursday and burgled a house in the village of Eleweran Kajola in Ile-Ife, where they stole a bag of cement.
The suspects were named as Friday Ezekiel, 41, Cross River State; and John Apata Koffi, 60, from Togo.
Brig-Gen. Adewinbi said, Ezekiel would put on Mobile Police uniform, while his partner in crime, Koffi, wear beret of the Federal Roads Safety Commission (FRSC) when they were out for their criminal mission.
Adewinbi said, during cross-examination, “the suspect confessed to perpetrating the act and that they have been involved in such activities for a long time, and disguise as a police officer to extort the people.”
