Jan-Christian Dreesen took over from former goalkeeper of the club, Oliver Kahn, as CEO, at the end of the 2022/23 season, following a campaign that ended below expectation for the Bavarians.
According to fcbayern.com:
The two men spoke for 45 minutes, primarily on the subjects of sport and FC Bayern. Both Dreesen and Söder are in favour of dialogue and short lines of communication. They’ve known each other since Dreesen joined the German record champions’ board 10 years ago. As a sign of continuing to look ahead in the future, the CEO presented the Minister-President with FC Bayern’s new home shirt.
Dreesen: “First I’d like to thank Dr Markus Söder for the warm reception at the State Chancellery. The Minister-President is very well informed and interested in all our issues – especially in squad planning. Having a dialogue with the Bavarian state government is important for us on many levels, just because of our location alone. FC Bayern and the Free State are inextricably linked.”
Söder: “FC Bayern is simply a flagship for the Free State around the world. Thank you for the visit to the State Chancellery and the interesting exchange. I wish you success for the new role as CEO!”
