Former Governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi, celebrated “public servants and public office holders who work for the progress of our dear nation” on Friday 23 June, 2023.

Friday 23 June, 2023 was United Nations Public Service Day.

Obi said: “As we mark the United Nations Public Service Day today, we celebrate our public servants and public office holders, at all levels of government who, with dedication and commitment, work for the peace, unity and progress of our dear nation.


“The public service sector remains a critical part of our developmental journey as a nation. In actualising our dreams for the New Nigeria, and moving our nation from consumption to production, the public service will continue to play immeasurable roles.


“The service will be well remunerated, run along international best practices and armed with the tools of modern bureaucratic management. That way, it will equipped in articulating and implementing policy frameworks to accelerate our national growth and development.


“I encourage all servants and public office holders to continue to uphold the pristine values of hard work, accountability, commitment, dedication and honesty, without yielding to the corruption, ethnic and religious division,


“and poor attitude to work, which weigh down on our nation. 


“Together, we will build a highly productive nation – a New Nigeria!”
