King Charles III Coronation: Leader of anti-monarchy group Republic arrested during protest

The Leader of Republic has been arrested at a protest in Trafalgar Square ahead of King Charles III’s Coronation.

King Charles III’s Coronation will take place on Saturday 6 May, 2023.

Republic is an anti-monarchy campaign group.

Footage reveals protesters in t-shirts with the inscription “Not My King” being detained, encompassing Republic’s leader, Graham Smith.

Six protesters including Mr. Smith were apprehended by the Police while unloading placards close to the coronation procession route, the group said.

The Group added, “So much for the right to peaceful protest”, as officers decline on giving reasons for their arrest as well as confirmed their CEO was among them.
