Bayern Munich new CEO, Jan-Christian Dreesen, has confessed, he “had a different plan for my life” following his appointment as replacement for Oliver Kahn.

Dreesen replaced Oliver Kahn as CEO of Bayern Munich on Saturday 27 May, 2023, as announced by the club.
The announcement is coming same day Bayern Munich clinched its eleventh (11th) consecutive Bundesliga title after beating FC Koln 2-1 in the top flight match on Saturday in Cologne.
Also, the Club’s Sporting Director, Hasan Salihamidzic, was relieved of his duties, however, his replacement is yet to be decided.
After his new appointment, Dreesen at a press conference said, “I’ve been at this club for 10 years, so I’m an old face. I want to thank the board for this opportunity.”
Borussia Dortmund’s 2-2 draw against Mainz 05 at the Signal Iduna Park on Saturday paved the way for Bayern Munich to emerge winners of the Bundesliga 2022/23 title.
Dreesen said: “I’ve been at this club for 10 years, so I’m an old face. Togetherness and camaraderie are extremely important things for me – that starts from the very top. It’s key that we demonstrate a close and trusting relationship within the directors’ and supervisory boards.
“I had a different plan for my life. I’ve had some wonderful years and coming here ten years ago was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. You need to think about changing your plans when something as heart-touching as this comes up.
“I want to thank the board for this opportunity. The next few weeks will definitely not be easy, but I am looking forward to getting started.”
