Former Vice President of Nigeria, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, has sent a congratulatory message to Aliko Dangote on the commissioning of the Dangote Petroleum Refinery.

The Dangote Petroleum Refinery was commissioned on Monday 22 May, 2023 by President Muhammadu Buhari.
The magnificent edifice is located in the Lekki Free Zone near Lagos, Nigeria.
Atiku, 2023 Presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), congratulated Nigerians and went ahead to “celebrate the vision and foresight of Alhaji Aliko Dangote”, who is the Founder, Chairman and CEO of the Dangote Group.
The Waziri Adamawa added, “the benefits of this effort are immense and our country must look forward towards the private sector as partners in nation-building for the growth of our country”.
Atiku said: “I congratulate Nigerians, and I celebrate the vision, foresight and determination of Alhaji Aliko Dangote, @AlikoDangote, and the @DangoteGroup on the commissioning of the Dangote Refinery.
“Coming at a time when our Govt-owned refineries have remained moribund for years, it again confirms the stance I have taken over the years that business persons best do business while government maintain their role in providing an enabling environment and as a regulator to harness the benefits for the good of all citizens.
“The benefits of this effort in terms of jobs, fuel supply and availability, foreign exchange earnings and savings, and tax revenue are immense. Hence, my congratulations to Nigerians.
“Our country must look more towards the private sector as partners in nation-building for the growth of our country, and in this regard, Aliko Dangote has distinguished himself remarkably.”
