An order of perpetual injunction restraining the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) from imposing fines, on broadcast stations in the country has been given by Justice James Omotosho of the Federal High Court in Abuja.

Justice Omotosho also overturned ₦500,000 fines impose on each of the forty-five (45) broadcast stations on March 1, 2019.
On March 1, 2019, the NBC a ₦500,000 fine on each of the 45 broadcast stations in the country over an alleged violation of its code.
