Former Head of State, General Yakubu Gowon (rtd), has come out to urge Nigerians to accept the decisions of the court as final when delivered.

Gowon also pleaded with Nigerians to allow the Court to carry out its duties as regards the 2023 Presidential Election Petition Tribunal without any form of interference.

Adding, the Judiciary plays an essential role in the unity of the country.

The 2023 Presidential Election produced ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) 2023 Presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, as Nigeria’s President-elect.

Tinubu defeated Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP); Alhaji Atiku Abubakar of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP); Rabiu Kwakwanso of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP); alongside other Presidential candidates of other Political Parties, to emerge victorious.

Tinubu was declared winner and handed his Certificate of Return by the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Mahmood Yakubu.
