The move to immediately evacuate Nigerian students from Sudan is coming following the fighting between the Sudanese Army and the paramilitary force.
The fighting is more intense in the Sudanese capital, Khartoum, and more than 300 people have lost their lives due to the fighting.
Even more than 70% of health centres across the country have shut down as a result of the unrest as access to basic necessities such as food, water and medicine have become difficult.
Ahmad, Special Assistant on Digital Communication to President Muhammadu Buhari, disclosed: “The Nigerian Embassy in Khartoum advises the Nigerian students and other Nigerians in Sudan to remain indoors as the Federal Government is working on the modality for their immediate evacuation.”
