Nigerian students are being evacuated in batches from Sudan to Egypt due to severe unrest in the North African country.

In Sudan, especially in the capital, Khartoum, the heavy fighting between the Army of Sudan and the paramilitary force has forced foreign nationals to move out of the country.

Nigerian students being evacuated from Sudan were left stranded on their way to Egypt as they cried “we don’t know where we are”.

This was due to some issues between NEMA and the bus company, as disclosed by the NIDCOM Chairman, who later revealed “they have started moving”.

A Twitter user said, “Iya wa Abike, there shouldn’t have been any problem after such bogus money was used for this emergency evacuation..

“We can’t spend $1.2mln on buses for a simple drive-through and have cases of abandonment anywhere.

“It’s not head-off ooooh.”

Abike Dabiri-Erewa quoted the tweet and commented: “Baba wa Ayanlola. Difficult to be judge in this instance but I’m sure @FMHDSD and @nemanigeria would clarify. However, the first set has  arrived the Aswan border in Egypt but the border is already closed. They will leave early morning and then proceed to the airport”.
