They are the two main interested parties that want to take charge of the Premier League club.
The Glazer Family, owners of Manchester United, will now assess their position after the latest bid deadline submitted on Friday.
The two bidders are keen for a resolution to a process that kicked off in November.
In November, the Glazers announced, the board had “authorised a thorough evaluation of strategic alternatives” encompassing selling the former Premier League champions.
