Since 1958, the Coverciano has been the home of the Italian National Teams, as well as houses the Azzurri during every international break and before each major tournament.

The Coverciano, tagged “the University of Italian Football” is also where the top Italian coaching courses take place alongside hosts arbitration meetings and appeals.

However, given the training ground broke ground over sixty-five (65) years ago, there is the need for maintenance works to be carried out.

The maintenance works would encompass a restructuring of the edifice entirely.

Coverciano could undergo huge updates to the gym, training pitches, medical facilities and press areas of the complex due to evolution and constant expansion of the world’s game.

According to reports, the project inspired by innovation, landscape integration, energy efficiency and sustainability, was put together in accordance to the guidelines of UEFA.

Confirmation is still expected from the City Council before the final approval of the project is signed off.
