2023 Presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, has sent his congratulatory message to Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu “on his election as President-General of Ohaneze Ndigbo”.

Atiku said, “Chief Iwuanyanwu is qualified to lead the Apex Ndigbo organization”, and urged “him to use his good office to strengthen Igbo unity”.
The former Vice President of Nigeria said: “Congratulations to Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu on his election as the President-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo.
“Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu is eminently positioned and qualified to lead the apex Ndigbo organisation at this time when the country is in search of national renewal in all aspects of life. I urge him to use his good office to strengthen national integration and Igbo unity in a manner that has not been seen since after the Nigerian civil war.
“I am optimistic that Chief Iwuanyanwu will make the desired impact, considering his political grit and sagacity, and as one whose aura and influence reverberates across the length and breadth of Nigeria.”
