Climate Change: Extinction Rebellion launches four-day mass action in London

Activists participate in “The Big One” event in the United Kingdom (UK) Capital, demanding the government to take more action to fight the climate crisis.

Extinction Rebellion, an environmental campaign group, has kicked off a four-day action in the city of London.

The group has assured less disruption and more inclusion than the mass blockades that became its trademark.

On Friday, Co-Founder of the Group known as XR, Clare Farrell, said, “this is about broadening the invite and bringing far more people in far more groups on board”.

Farrell told AFP News Agency, “For a lot of people, going on a march like coming to a picket is a first step”, assuring to target “non-violent civil disobedience”.

In recent years, Extinction Rebellion, had garnered media attention via hitting roads, disruptions, airports as well as other public transport networks with direct action protests against Climate change.

The Group is hoping that 100,000 people will converge outside the parliament for “The Big One” event this weekend.

So far, 30,000 people have registered their interest, the Group revealed.
