FC Bayern have appointed Englishman Anthony Barry as a new assistant coach. The 36-year-old moves from Chelsea FC to Munich, where he’ll assist head coach Thomas Tuchel together with Zsolt Löw and Arno Michels. Hasan Salihamidžić, FC Bayern board member for sport: “I’m pleased we’ve managed to recruit Anthony Barry. Anthony completes our coaching staff and is an ideal fit for FC Bayern with his passion and his quality.”

Liverpool-born Barry was a player himself until 2017 and played in League One, the third tier of English football. The former midfielder then started as an assistant coach at Wigan Athletic, before joining the staff at Chelsea in 2020. He sat in the dugout with Tuchel 99 times for the London club.
