Train-Bus Accident in Lagos: Governor Sanwo-Olu suspends campaign for three days, thanks Gbadebo of LP, Jandor of PDP

The accident between the moving train and high capacity bus happened in the morning of Thursday 9 March, 2023, at PWD, around Shogunle.

The sad incident claimed the lives of two adults with several people sustaining serious injuries, as disclosed by the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA).

Governor Sanwo-Olu disclosed, the bus was a Lagos State Government Bus which was conveying staff of the Lagos State Govt.

As a result of the unfortunate incident, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has taken several decisions, which include:

  1. Suspension of his 2023 Governorship campaign for three (3) days
  2. Declaration of half day tomorrow, Friday 10 March, 2023, for civil servants
  3. All flags to be raised at half mast
  4. Declaration of a three-day mourning for Lagos State
Governor Sanwo-Olu did not hesitate to thank his fellow contestants in the 2023 Governorship Election – Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour AKA GRV of the Labour Party (LP) and Abdul-Azeez Adediran AKA Jandor of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), for coming to LASUTH to also commiserate with the victims and the State Government.
