Chinese-owned social media platform, TikTok, is to set a default 60-minute daily time limit for all account run by under-18s.

The platform is also developing a toll which will allow parents to prevent their children from viewing contents that contain certain words or hashtags as the company hustles to strengthen its public reputation.
The changes are coming following growing worries among various governments around the world as regards the platform’s security as well as ability to alter its algorithm to push certain posts.
TikTok revealed it came up with the 60-minute decision by consulting academic research and experts from the Digital Wellness Lab at Boston Children’s Hospital.
