Salihamidzic said, Bayern Munich “have won only five of our last ten Bundesliga matches”.
Bayern Munich parted ways with Julian Nagelsmann on Friday 24 March, 2023, and named former Chelsea manager, Thomas Tuchel, as successor.
The German Bundesliga reigning champions revealed Tuchel will take charge of training on Monday.
Hasan Salihamidzic said: “We had a lot of deliberation and have, in our opinion, come to the best decision for FC Bayern Munich. We had these up-and-down performances in March of last year, as well as in September, and have now won only five of our last ten Bundesliga matches.
“We realised that this wasn’t simply a blip or a phase anymore, rather that the connection between the team and the head coach was no longer working. When the form curve dips like this, you have to react.”
