Xi Jinping was elected by Members of the National People’s Congress on Friday at the ongoing session of the 14th National People’s Congress.

Unanimously, Xi Jinping was also named Chairman of the Central Military Commission (CMC), which makes him the commander of the two-million-member People’s Liberation Army (PLA), China’s principal military force.
The 69-year old was handed a third five-year term as General Secretary of the Party in October.
