For the first time, since its beginning in 1991, the FIFA Women’s World Cup will feature 32 teams this year.

The reason for the expansion this year was to hand more countries the opportunity to experience the global tournament, an aim that has been reached with the qualification of eight teams that will be making their debuts in Australia and New Zealand.
The FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 will be co-hosted by Australia and New Zealand.
The eight debutants of the FIFA Women’s World Cup:

- Morocco
- Panama
- Philippines
- Portugal
- Republic of Ireland
- Vietnam
- Zambia
