The club has also named former Chelsea manager, Thomas Tuchel, as his successor.

The sacking is coming as the perennial Bundesliga champions struggle to assert themselves in the German top flight race for the title.

Oliver Kahn, Chief Executive of Bayern Munich, blamed “big fluctuations in performance”, adding that, the defending champions were not showing their true potential under Nagelsmann.

Former Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) manager, Thomas Tuchel, will take charge of training from Monday with a deal that will stay until the end of the 2024/25 season.
