Almost 94 million registered for the 2023 general elections and more than 80 million have collected their Permanent Voter’s Card (PVC) and were eligible to exercise their civil rights by casting their vote for their choice candidate.
Tinubu, former Governor of Lagos State, in his acceptance speech, said: “I am profoundly humbled to serve as the 16th President of our beloved country. This is a shining moment in the life of any man and an affirmation of our democratic existence.
“I take this opportunity to appeal to my fellow contestants to let us team up together. It is the only nation we have. It is one country and we must build together.”
APC Presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, was declared winner of the 2023 Presidential election by the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Mahmood Yakubu.
Tinubu polled a total of 8,794,726 votes; Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, Presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), polled 6,984,520 votes; Peter Obi, Presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), polled 6,101,533 votes; and Rabiu Kwakwanso, Presidential candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), polled 1,496,687 votes.
