Southern Turkey and Northern Syria were hit by a 7.8 magnitude earthquake on Monday 6 February, 2023.
The young girl named Miray, had been trapped underneath the debris of the collapsed building for almost eight days.
“God is great”, rescue workers were cheering and shouting, as revealed via a video, as she was pulled out to safety.
It is now confirmed that death toll has risen beyond 35,000.
The final death toll in Turkey and Syria is likely to be much higher, with the United Nations (UN) Humanitarian Chief warning it could “double or more”.
Hopes of finding people alive is seriously dropping, also there is a feeling that the rescue works will soon stop.
Officials are currently focusing more on shelter, healthcare and food.
