Turkey-Syria Earthquake: Turkish President Erdogan declares three-month long state of emergency

A three-month long state of emergency has been declared by the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, in ten provinces as rescuers race against time in Turkey and Syria following the 7.8 magnitude earthquake which struck on Monday.

As expected, support has been arriving from different parts of the world.

The humanitarian crisis scale is becoming more apparent and agencies of aid have started issuing warnings of the difficulty in reaching both survivors and treating those with injuries.

More than 8,000 people have died as a result of the earthquake and the death toll has not stopped increasing.

There has been positive responses from countries and organizations from around the world with money, equipment and boots on the ground.
