According to reports, more than 11,200 people have been confirmed dead following a 7.8 magnitude earthquake that hit Turkey and Syria on Monday.
Officials in Turkey reveal 8,574 people have died in the country, while in Syria, it is hard getting figures, however, it is understood the number of deaths confirmed so far is 2,662.
President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, is visiting areas affected by the massive disaster, where he revealed resources have been mobilized.
Turkey is facing criticism that, the state is slow to get to some areas that are badly-hit by the huge earthquake which struck the country on Monday.
President Erdogan revealed there were problems encountered initially, however, he says operations are back to normal.
The Turkish President said: “Initially there were issues at airports and on the roads, but today things are getting easier and tomorrow it will be easier still. We have mobilised all our resources. The state is doing its job.”
