Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky declares “2023 will be the year of our victory” as Poland confirms the first Leopard Tanks have been delivered to Kyiv.

Denys Shmyhal, Ukrainian Prime Minister, posed in from of Leopard 2 Tanks with Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki, who has taken a trip to Kyiv, Ukraine’s capital, to mark the arrival of the first western tanks the country received.

“A year ago, tanks went to Ukraine to deprive Ukrainians of their freedom. Today, tanks have also entered Ukraine, but to protect freedom,” Shmyhal said.

In total, Poland has assured to deliver 14 German-made Leopard 2 Tanks.

At a ceremony on the one-year anniversary of Russia’s invasion, President Zelensky awarded medals to members of Ukraine’s military.

Family members of the soldiers who have died in the conflict received the medals on their behalf.
