2023 Elections: Commonwealth Observer Group led by Thabo Mbeki visit INEC

Former President of South Africa, Thabo Mbeki, led the Commonwealth Observer Group to the office of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The Group visited INEC on Monday 20 February, 2023 and were received by the Chairman of the Commission, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu.

The mission for the visit to INEC was “to learn about the Commission’s preparedness for the 2023 General Election”.

Thabo Mbeki said: “We look forward to a free, fair and conclusive process.”

Yakubu said: “We are aware of the responsibilities on our shoulders. We will not let Nigeria and the International community down”.
