Fans of Sampdoria paid emotional tributes to former striker of the club, Gianluca Vialli, who died at the age of 58 on Friday.

Gianluca Vialli died of pancreatic cancer. The former Italy striker was diagnosed with the disease in 2017, he disclosed he had been given the all-clear in 2020, however, was diagnosed with it again in 2021.
Sampdoria who were down to ten men lost 0-2 to toppers, SSC Napoli, in the Serie A match on Sunday 8 January.
Nigerian striker, Victor Osimhen, opened scoring for the Partenopei in the 19th minute and Eljif Elma’s sealed victory for the visitors in the 82nd minute from the penalty spot.

Napoli had earlier missed a penalty in the 6th minute through Matteo Politano.
With this result, SSC Napoli remain at the top of the League table with 44 points, seven points about Juventus and AC Milan.
