Serious protest broke out in Osun State on Friday following the sack of Ademola Adeleke as Governor of the state by the Osun Governorship Election Petition Tribunal.

As a result of over-voting, Adeleke was sacked by the Tribunal, and former Governor, Adegboyega Oyetola, was declared winner of the July 16, 2022 governorship election held in the State.
While delivering a majority decision, Justice Tetsea Kume made a declaration that, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) did not comply veritably with the constitution and the provision of the Electoral Act.
A huge number of Adeleke supporters dashed into the streets to protest against the judgement.
The protesters blocked the Olaiya Bridge while demonstrating against the Court’s judgement which sacked Ademola Adeleke as Governor of Osun State.
