The FFF President has suffered criticism over his comments about Zidane, saying he would not take a call from the former France attacking midfielder for the role of manager for the National team.

Later, Noel le Graet came out and apologized for the comments, which he depicted as “clumsy”.

However, Patrick Anton, head of FFF’s Ethics Committee, said, 81-year old Noel le Graet has reached the time to step aside.

“Le Graet has made comments that show he has lost some of his lucidity. He is a man who is tired, who needs to move on,” Anton told L’Equipe.

Zinedine Zidane clinched the 1998 World Cup as a player. He has basked in a trophy-laden spell as a manager of Spanish La Liga giants, Real Madrid.

He has been tipped to succeed Didier Deschamps as France Senior National Team.
