Pep Guardiola’s side whitewashed Graham Potter’s Blues 4-0 with a team that has no Kevin de Bruyne, Erling Braut Haaland, Ilkay Gundogan and a host of others top players.
With this outcome, Manchester City have progressed into the fourth round of the tournament, to lock horns with either Oxford or Arsenal.
Manchester City head coach, Pep Guardiola, has taken time to suggest to new Chelsea owner, Todd Boehly, what to do with recently employed manager Graham Potter following Chelsea’s most recent loss at the Etihad Stadium.
Guardiola suggested Boehly to give Potter more time at the club in his role as manager.
The Spanish football manager also mentioned about how a manager needs more than one season to start achieving positive results at a club.
The Citizens Boss said: “I would say to Todd Boehly, that it was a pleasure to meet him, so give him time.
“I know in the big clubs, results are important but I would say give him time.
“So, I think, the second-half is what he is. What he has done in Brighton was outstanding. All managers need time, he is right.

“We need time every season. In Barcelona there was a reason because I had Messi there, I didn’t need two seasons: one was enough. To play against City when we are at this level in Carabao Cup or here is not easy for Graham, for Chelsea or for any team.”
After the humiliating defeat at the Etihad, Blues manager, Graham Potter, said: “You can make excuses and look for reasons, or you can say that it isn’t good enough and both of those answers are correct. Clearly we’re suffering and it’s not nice but it is where we are at the moment.”
