Australia Helicopter Mishap: Four dead in mid-air collision

A mid-air collision between two helicopters close to SeaWorld in Australia’s Gold Coast has claimed four lives.

Police of Queensland are saying, initially, suggestion after investigations reveals, the crash occurred as one helicopter was taking off and the other was landing.

The four that died were conveyed in the same helicopter, and three other passengers are in critical conditions.

The other helicopter which made an emergency landing conveyed six passengers. Five out of the six sustained minor injuries.

The collision which happened between the two helicopters is being investigated by the Australian Transport Safety Bureau (ATSB).

The two helicopters came down near a tourist strip beach called Main Beach, South of Brisbane.

Gary Worrell of the Queensland Police Service told newsmen: “It’s a difficult scene. Due to the area it’s located, on the sand bank, it was difficult to gain access, to get our emergency services to the scene to manage it appropriately.”
