Ismaila narrated that he was attacked by the “political thugs” alongside others while pasting posters of a House of Representatives candidate in Osun State’s Atakunmosa East Local Government Area.
The Labour Party (LP) Chieftain narrated to Sahara Reporters: “I am still receiving treatments at Wesley Guild Hospital, Ilesa after I was hacked by PDP political thugs. The thugs are from Iwara. I was attacked on November 30th by six of those thugs. I was attacked because I pasted the posters of Labour Party House of Representatives candidate, Kunle Gideon, popularly known as Aloba. That is my only offence. We are living in fear in that area.”
Some other Labour Party (LP) members of the communities of Ijeshaland – Owode, Igangan, and Olopon – have also lamented in protests of the “ongoing attacks”, claiming they suffered attacks severally in a week.
Comrade Bello Adebayo, the state chairman of the Labour Party, made some comments on the attack, pressing the Commissioner of Police, Sunday Faleye, to arrest and prosecute thugs who carried out attacks on party members.
