From Monday, Nurseries and children centers will also shut, according to the Education Bureau of Shanghai.
Earlier this month, Chinese authorities eased restrictions after a wave of protests which targeted China zero-covid strategy.
However, the easing of strict lockdown measures has resulted to heightening concerns over the spread of Covid across China.
Medical facilities and hospitals have been overstretched, with temporary health centers as well as intensive care facilities being constructed across the Asian country.
In the city of Shanghai, reports say that an additional 230,000 beds have been made available.
There are worries that China’s health infrastructure may not be able to handle the fast increase in patients, especially as Covid spreads among the elderly and a lot of them are not fully vaccinated.
