World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) in collaboration with Super Sport have announced plans to conduct a talent hunt programme which will help discover the next generation of African WWE superstars.

The programme, according to organisers, will take place in February in the beautiful city of Lagos.
WWE Head of Talent Operations and Strategy, James Kimball, said, application will be open to citizens of any country in Africa for a whole six weeks over the age of 20. Application will close on 18 December.
Kimball said: “Africa is a focal point of our renewed global talent recruitment strategy and this initiative in Lagos will launch what we envision becoming a year-round, multi-country effort to cultivate relationships and identify talent that will resonate with our passionate and loyal African fanbase,”
Some Nigerian wrestlers are already carving huge niches for themselves in the WWE, and they have praised the move to harvest more talents from Nigeria as well as other parts of Africa.
WWE Nigerian wrestler, Tolulope Jordan Omogbehin, professionally known as, Omos, said: “It feels great to be back home in Nigeria. I was shocked and amazed when I was told we were coming to Nigeria for this initiative. That finally, Nigeria will get to show the world that there is abundant talent in the country.”
Another WWE Nigerian wrestler, Sesugh Uhaa, popularly known as, Apollo Crew, said: “The opportunities that WWE provides are enormous. It is a global brand. It is great that Nigeria and Africa get to show the world the talent in the country. It is amazing to be here.”
