Professor Mustapha Akanbi, Vice-Chancellor of the Kwara State University has died after a long battle with illness.

Via a statement, Mrs Kikelomo Salle, the Registrar of KWASU, confirmed the unfortunate incident.
According to Mrs Salle, Prof. Akanbi died after a protracted illness, on Sunday.
The KWASU Registrar said, “We urge everyone to remember his immediate and extended family, and the University in prayers in this very trying time.
“Burial arrangement will be announced soon.”
Professor Mustapha Akanbi is a native of Ile magaji Kemberi, Awodi, Gambari Quarters, Ilorin East, Kwara State of Nigeria.
Born to the family of late Hon. Justice Muhammed Mustapha Adebayo Ajao Akanbi and late Hajia Munfaatu Aduke Akanbi.
He graduated with a Masters Degree in Law (LLM), from the University of Lagos, Akoka, Lagos in 1998.
Prof. Akanbi got a Doctorate Degree in Law (Ph.D), from the King’s College University of London, United Kingdom (UK).
