Group G – Breel Embolo, Switzerland forward, scored the only goal of the encounter against Cameroon, the country of his birth – in a hard-fought FIFA World Cup 2022 opener at the Al Janoub Stadium in Qatar.
Photos 👇 After scoring in the 48th minute for the Red Crosses, Embolo refused to celebrate against the Indomitable Lions.
The Indomitable Lions played beautifully well, however, they finished with an unfortunate result, losing their first match of the tournament.
This victory was really pivotal for Switzerland as they move ahead to slug it out with Brazil and Serbia, who are both tough opponents in the Group.
Breel Embolo, from Cameroon moved to Switzerland as a six-year old with his family, and went ahead to pledge his allegiance to the European country after being granted citizenship in 2014.
