Economic problems pushed Liz Truss to resign after serving just 44 days in office.

Sunak, a former Finance Minister, said in a statement published on Sunday, “the United Kingdom is a great country but we face a profound economic crisis. That’s why I am standing to be Leader of the Conservative Party and your next Prime Minister”.

With this statement, Rishi Sunak automatically goes into a fight with his former Boss Boris Johnson for the position of Prime Minister of the United Kingdom (UK).

In the history of the UK, Liz Truss became the shortest-serving Prime Minister following her resignation on Thursday after her catastrophic tax cut plans as well as policy U-turns immersed the markets into a state of disorder, causing the Pound to fall into its lowest value.

The never before experienced crisis in the economy of the country attracted a rare intervention from the Bank Of England.
