Premier League: Aston Villa 4-0 Brentford – Renewed Claret and Blue wallop Bees in first encounter after sacking of Gerrard

Aston Villa were excellent in their first match after the sacking of Steven Gerrard with Danny Ings netting a brace in the 4-0 crushing of Brentford in the Premier League game on Sunday, 23 October.

Under caretaker manager Aaron Danks, Aston Villa raced to a 3-0 lead inside just 15 minutes against Brentford, with Leon Bailey placing the hosts ahead in just 60 seconds from the corner.

Danny Ings, assisted by Bailey, made it two for the Claret and Blue in the 7th minute.

Striker Ings netted his second of the game in the 14th minute to make it three for Danks’ side from 12 yards after Tyrone Mings was hauled down by Kristoffer Ajer.

Olie Watkins made it four for Aston Villa in the 59th minute to seal the win for the hosts at the Villa Park.
