Manchester United ‘finally coming back’ – Man City Boss Guardiola

Manchester City head coach, Pep Guardiola, is of the belief that Manchester United are “finally coming back”. The Spanish football manager made these comments after the Red Devils discomfited FC Sheriff by 3-0 in their Uefa Europa League encounter on Thursday night.

United have not clinched the English Premier League title since 2013 and their last trophy came in 2017, however, Erik Ten Hag’s United have remained unbeaten since their 6-3 fall to Manchester City.

Guardiola says, he sees positive changes under United’s Dutch head coach.

The Citizens’ manager said, “I have the feeling United are coming back.

“Finally United is coming back – I’ve seen it on Thursday [the 3-0 win over Sheriff Tiraspol], and against Chelsea in the first half [of the 1-1 draw last weekend].

“I said I like what I see of United right now. There will be a lot of teams like United fighting. That’s why you have to fight to qualify for the Champions League and fight for the title.”

Guardiola also believes Newcastle United have what it takes to fight for a spot in the top four and eventually qualify for the next Uefa Champions League.

The Spaniard further said, “Newcastle are already there. I saw them against Tottenham. The central defenders went man to man against Kane and Son with no problem at all.

“We know how good Eddie the manager is.

“They have new players. They play brave. They are a contender to be there.”
