New signing Antony, from Dutch Eredivisie side Ajax, inspired the Red Devils with an opener coupled with Marcus Rashford’s second-half brace to put an end to Arsenal’s perfect start to the season.
Antony, who moved to Manchester United for £86million on deadline day, made a dream start to life at Old Trafford by finding the back of the net in the 35th minute of play to put the hosts in front.
The Brazilian’s goal came after Mikel Arteta’s side’s 12th minute goal was ruled out by Video Assistant Referee (VAR) after referee Paul Tierney used the pitchside monitor to cancel Gabriel Martinelli’s finish for a foul on Red Devils’ midfielder Christian Eriksen by Martin Odegaard in the goal build-up.

Deservedly, the visitors levelled through winger Bukayo Saka in the 60th minute, however, Erik Ten Hag’s side retook the lead six minutes later after Marcus Rashford successfully converted Bruno Fernandes’ through pass.
With a breakaway goal set up by Eriksen in the 75th minute, Rashford sealed victory for United with his second goal to make it 3-1 for the hosts.
