Liz Truss has pledged she will announce a plan within a week to squash the rising energy costs if she becomes Prime Minister on Tuesday.

The Tory leadership hopeful, who is favourite according to Pollsters, opened up to BBC’s Laura Kuenssberg she would “act immediately” to help with rising bills.
However, Truss gave no details, saying she would need firstly, time in office so as to conclude on exact proposals.
Rishi Sunak, her rival, revealed his target would be further payments at the poorest.
On Monday, one of the two contenders will be announced as the next Tory leader, and will take over from Boris Johnson in Downing Street on Tuesday.
Both have been subjected to pressure to disclose how they would protect households with rising bills alongside render help to businesses which are not covered by the domestic price cap.
