At least two deaths have been confirmed after a Seven-storey uncompleted building collapsed in the Lekki area of Lagos State.

According to reports, the building was still under construction before it caved in on Sunday morning.
The structure is located at Oba Idowu Oniru Street by Ave Maria Hospital, near Sandfield Bus Stop, Lekki.
The cause of the collapse remains unknown, emergency workers and security operatives have swung into action at the site of the unfortunate incident to carry out some rescue works and possibly pull out trapped victims.
The sad incident was confirmed by Dr. Femi Oke-Osanyintolu, Permanent Secretary (PS), Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) and Ibrahim Farinloye, Lagos Territorial Coordinator of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA).
Both rescue officials also confirmed that six persons were trapped in the collapsed building and that rescue efforts have commenced to save them.
Oke-Osanyintolu said: “Upon arrival at the scene of the incident, an uncompleted 7-storey building undergoing construction was found to have collapsed. Six people are reported to be trapped under the rubbles of the collapsed structure.
“The Agency’s heavy-duty equipment excavator will be required for the rescue of the trapped victims. We have activated the Lagos State Response plan. Operation ongoing.”
