Oluwatobiloba ‘Tobi’ Amusan has emerged winner in the Women’s 100m hurdles at the Diamond League in Zurich on Thursday.
Tobi Amusan defended her Diamond League title after finishing 12.29 seconds. United States’ Tia Jones clinched second after finishing 12.40 seconds, and Brittany Anderson finished in the third position.
The Nigerian hurdler had won the Diamond League last year with a record of 12.42 seconds, as well as setting an African record.
Tobi Amusan’s Diamond League triumph is her latest achievement following her superb form.

She became the first Nigerian to win a World Athletics Championship Gold in July, where she clinched victory in the Women’s 100m hurdles in Eugene, Oregon, United States, finishing with a beautiful 12.06 seconds new record.
During the semi-final of the event in Eugene, Oregon, Tobi Amusan hit 12.12 seconds to break the world record at Hayward Field.
However, her winning was not accepted as a world record as a result of an illegal tailwind of 2.5m per second.
And moving to the Commonwealth Games weeks later, Amusan clinched another record-breaking gold medal for Team Nigeria.
She finished with a new games record of 12.30 seconds to retain the 100m hurdles she won in Australia four years ago.
