English Premier League: Brentford 4-0 Man United – Red Devil’s have ‘hit rock bottom’, ‘a collective rot’, ‘an absolute mess’ – Pundits blast Erik Ten Hag’s men

Last weekend, Manchester United lost 1-2 to Brighton and Hove Albion in their first Premier League encounter under new Dutch manager Erik Ten Hag, and now the Red Devils have suffered a more humiliating defeat at the hands of Brentford in their second top flight match of the new 2022/23 EPL season.

The first away match of Manchester United of the new season ended in an embarrassing 4-0 loss, an outcome which has left Erik Ten Hag’s men without a point and at the bottom of the League table.

Chris Sutton, a BBC Sport expert, believes United may have “hit rock bottom”, Sky Sports pundit Karen Carney said the situation “can’t get any lower” for Ten Hag and his players, and Gary Neville said the club’s owners are overseeing a “collective rot”.

Alan Shearer, former striker of England, told BBC Match Of The Day: “It is an absolute mess. Years of failure, years of mismanagement. There is a lack of leadership and the recruitment has been terrible.

“It will take time and an unbelievable amount of money to get things right, and a lot of patience from the Manchester United fans. They are miles away from where there want to be.”
