2022 Commonwealth Games, Birmingham: Ese Brume wins Gold for Nigeria, set new Games record

Nigeria’s Ese Brume has clinched Gold in the Women’s Long Jump event as well as gone ahead to set new Games record at the ongoing 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham.

The Long Jumper won her Gold with a beautiful new Games record of 7.00m.

Australia’s Bronwyn Thompson has been the Games record holder with 6.97m in the Women’s Long Jump until now. Thompson achieved this feat in her home country, in the City of Melbourne, Australia in 2006.

Ese Brume’s Gold makes it a total of 12 Gold medals for Nigeria at the 2022 Commonwealth Games, Birmingham.

With 12 Gold medals, this is obviously Nigeria’s best outing since participating in the Commonwealth Games.
